We tested a new security camera. It has a clear image, versatility in the viewing angle and can record videos 24 hours a day, among other functions.
Reolink C2 Pro is a security camera designed for home or small business. It is the update of the C1 Pro model, therefore it incorporates improvements in image quality. For this, it includes a five-megapixel camera that offers a resolution of 1920 p.
Another advantage is its ability to record video 24/7 or when it only detects motion. No subscription required for cloud storage.
The detected videos can be saved on a micro SD card with 64 GB capacity or they can be uploaded to an FTP server.
How to configure C2 Pro?
The first step is to connect to the rooter for initial configuration, via an Ethernet cable. Once this step is done, you must scan the QR code that is located at the bottom of the camera. This requires the Reolink C2 application.
C2 Pro also works with Wi-Fi network. The camera can be placed on a shelf or mounted on the wall. You will need to use the included hinge bracket and mounting hardware. It can tilt up to 90 degrees.
Once the application is added, you can adjust various settings such as video quality, recording method and storage preferences, activating push notification and setting a recording schedule.
The camera has a home screen, a direct streaming panel, and a toolbar with buttons for all controls, a toggle for resolution, and a button for composite display.
At the bottom of the screen, there is a push-to-talk button, pan/tilt control, play button for the video library and clip. The latter opens a screenshot of the current view at the bottom, with a layer overlay. When you drag the box, an enlarged view of that fraction appears in the viewing pane.
